The layout is pretty much done. The fancy avatar gallery had to be removed, but I might be adding a code that makes staff have normal member ranks. We'd still appear in the Staff list so people know that someone can keep the site running, but on site we'd appear identical to members, in theory.
EDIT: It is done.

I have a new home. *wipes away a manly tear*
Seriously though, this is a pretty awesome idea. Nice one.

Very awesome idea... but with all this freedom comes all this freedom... what to do what to do.

Hello there... I hope this works out for us, I'd hate to see the no moderation system turn on it's ass and devolve this board into /b/
Let us restart the community then, hmm?

Have a good community, yes. Have /b/, no!
I think it's safe to say we can all easily mod ourselves.

Yeah, but my worry is that if we ever grow in popularity enough to show up on google, the "no mods" system would leave us extremely open to raiding.
But I'm just paranoid, so it probably won't happen.

That's what they said on /b/...

To be totally honest, we're a community, not a 'real' forum. The chances of us ever growing that large are quite low. Not to mention, if we did get that big the sense of community would be lessened anyway.

You've got it correct there, I suppose... we're just the playground for the regulars on the hive, a home away from home, a community separate from it's origins.

I mean, having a place like this is nice, but wouldn't it also be nice if it did grow into a popular forum?

Depends. New members are great. New members who act like turds because there are 'no mods' aren't. We'll just have to see how it goes.

If it does grow into a popular forum most of us will probably have left long ago anyway. Nothing (on the internet) gets popular within a week, so to say.
Cheers!

Hellbreaker, I think you've got that backwards. Everything gets popular in a week or it never gets popular at all.

Can you give yourself balls? I mean from your own IP address? What's stopping someone from making a 2nd account for that very reason?

You do have to remember that if a member joins to screw with us, the community can out them. Which is why I think raiders changing the community is not likely. They'd get pointed out and baleeted. Can you give yourself balls? I mean from your own IP address? What's stopping someone from making a 2nd account for that very reason? You cannot give yourself balls. And if you make a second account, Danger and myself will know as the IPs would match.
