I can sum it up in one word: JAPAN. Not enough tentacles or panties to genuinely qualify as Japan, sadly... In fact, Pokemon storyline wise in the games is rather unjapanese. You know, I have never noticed that before. Huh. |

That's true. >There's no mysterious old man who turns out to be your father/grandfather/a ghost. >There's no ditsy, completely out of touch with reality character. >There's hardly any dialog/huge morality speeches >There is no real sexual anything... discounting the fanart... fuckin' furries. >The last boss only has one form, and it is that of a lowly human rather than some sort of daemonic cyber-angel dragon octopus. >There isn't a billion optional bosses. >There isn't some sort of "quest for self" so much as a "quest for cheap compliments given to an emotionless mute". ... and so on and so one in that fashion until you have enough material for another god-forsaken JRPG. That said... I loved Golden Sun. It wasn't ridiculously Japanese. |
