Everyone probably has seen this thread by now I assume. It started off pretty harmlessly. I mean, everyone likes a laugh. And a cheerful homoerotic tribute to Yori every so often is amusing to any Genner. Then suddenly, we are talking about rape and drawing pictures of him giving birth. Now there was a line that was crossed when the thread took that turn. It took a turn from a playful jab to all out disrespecting the man. I agree that Yori deserves some flak, but he does not deserve Genners posting nasty shit about him behind his back in the safety of their forum like fucking cowards. He did what he thought was right, regarding the purge of OldGen, and whilst we have the right to feel ill towards him, we do not have the right to go as far as we did in that thread. Whilst he does not like us, he'd never disrespect us as much as was done in that thread, and I think that he at least deserves that much back from us. I believe that 'What would happen if I sent this to Yori?' needs to be deleted and that we need to set a line regarding what is and is not acceptable when it comes to dealing with Yori threads and events. |

It would be a temporary solution at best. And I am well aware that we are pretty bad, but the truth of the matter is; OldGen/NewGen has so far attacked things that deserve to be struck with the right amount of force. Scarclaw's art = We call it rubbish Thyalie's posts = We call him out on bs Roleplay Board = Raid and Purge Yori's General Purge should be 'We joke about Yori and celebrate our independence' not 'We say we wanna rape him and make comics about stuff coming out his ass'. If Yori was as bad as, lets say, Chris-Chan, I'd say he'd deserve that, but he is no where near that level of badness. |

Did I ever give Yori less (of my) respect than he deserves? Nope, neither did I give him more.
I still respect the old sod, just as much as I have respect for anyone willing to deserve it, and he has as much as he deserves. Some agree, some disagree.
Everyone can't respect him, he doesn't deserve that, but he deserves to be respected by the members of the hive as the moderator he is. He does what he is supposed to do, without question, that's why I respect him.
I sent him a birthday pm, and was disappointed when he didn't even reply with something snarky. But I assume he read it, or simply saw it. Whether or not you guys' coinciding birthday thread made him ignore it I don't care, I'm still happy to know I'm nice enough to congratulate people. I might as well just keep holding up my respect for his work until he doesn't deserve it in my eyes.
He does have a sense of humour too, just he doesn't show it too often. Just like the pictures of him that I'll never get to see knowing it's him, or his Tyranids.

Who says I am protecting Yori? Heck, I'm the one that made him the gayest birthday card ever, and I'm probably going to make him the gayest Valentines card ever too.
I'm just saying that it is possible to go too far. And I think with Yori that line is when our banter goes from light hearted jabs to creepy and sick.
Everyone is free game, but there is such a thing as over-kill. I'd never use a rocket launcher to hunt deer no more then I'd use rape talk and disgusting comics to joke about Yori.

Common sense tells me that going on about how I want to rape a man, who has a direct influence on our TTH accounts and one of our prime member sources, is a bad, bad idea. I’d also mention how common sense tells me that saying such things is just disgusting, but apparently one deserves to have people going into discussion about sexually assaulting you and drawing pictures of you anally giving birth to stuff because you removed topics in a forum about toy soldiers. I mean, there is clearly nothing screwed up with that by our moral standards, amirite? Oh and Poly; you just had to bring in your girlfriend to boost your "team’s" votes, eh? Salamut, I didn't make this thread because I think no one should say anything bad about him at all. I made this thread because I think that we shouldn't go as far as rape/kill/etc talk and troll-art because he hasn't done nearly enough to warrant that.
Of course, you can make your own thread to convince people to leave Yori alone. Anyone is allowed to stand on the soapbox and take up whatever cause they wish in NewGen.

It's common sense that a place that has been billed as a sea of piss has P.C. boundaries? You never answered that question. Although anyone can see if gang rape is a problem, we are clearly not. Also, not that it matters, (but you didn't get the joke) we were always saying Yoritomo was our Mother. Babies aren't born out the ass. The joke is that Yoritomo had a vagina. "The very next day he had fertilized eggs." I said he & was talking about woman parts, if that's unacceptable lets go ahead & delete Kiki's one line story as the same thing was mentioned there. Or is that kind of thing acceptable for everyone else? Should we prohibit jokes that get old, or whenever Trygon isn't amused? Oh sorry guys, I can't answer that question I have a phone call.

I really don't care about Yori, I left OldGen behind. I don't even care if people accuse him of beating babies to death and laughing and filming it and then fapping over it at later times, I really couldn't care less. And Leela and Trygon, don't bicker, what does it get you? trygon gains no respect, Leela probably makes trygon giggle a little when she's trying to make him feel bad, nobody wins, don't even bother.
This forum is amazing, don't tip it on the bad side by bickering and squaballing over an issue that half of /NG/ probably doesn't give a shit about.
