Well, lets see who else is in for one first. Personally; I think it is a good idea. Of course, we'd need to be careful about it. Debates can turn into flames very easily. Maybe some rules of engagement could be written?

In my experience debate boards tend to just be a collection of people sticking to thier own opinions and conflicting with everyone else. Hmmm...
How's about we add an official "Serious thread" mark that sits atop the first post's description? If it turns to crap, then it wouldn't have worked as a whole board. If it goes strong, then a whole board would be considered.
Fair compromise or no?

Hmmmm... How about a serious RP board? Of course there would have to be enough people interested in REAL rps not the stuff TTH had... (I know Trygon does Rp's... just not sure where but i would be interested in knowing )

Poly and Danger are talking about that... but not in the sense that you'd think.
Well, there'd have to be a *serious discussion* (which I've added BTW) that'll give the board some direction. I'm not against it, but having some structure would see it last and prosper.

I would still vote strongly against that, though. Seems a bit... childish to me.
EDIT I'd be up for a Serious board too. That was one of the issues that we have had with TTH: Serious threads got derailed with stupid comments. With a board dedicated to Serious things, people know on entry that to post there is to try to stick to topic and post meaningfully. It would have to be moderated fairly strictly.

With a board dedicated to Serious things, people know on entry that to post there is to try to stick to topic and post meaningfully. It would have to be moderated fairly strictly. The problem with that is that there is no staff team on New General. The community needs to be able to trust itself to be able to have such a board. what about a "get help with da ladies" thread? That is a dumb idea. Having a whole board of teenagers crying about how much they fail at getting mates is not ballsy at all. Besides, having a thread in General is good enough.

In other news...
In media and other sections, I was thinking some things should get their own sub-boards. One thread for one thing may be a tad restricting, especially since this is a purely general forum. Tell me what you think.

We should consider that later, but at the moment everything is fine as it is. We don't want to have any sub-boards that have like, five topics after a whole year. Umbrella boards will do for now.

How about a thread for Warhammer? Or it could even be a sub-thread of something, e'g' Art or Gaming...

Let me clarify our purpose real quick. We are not in the business of imitation. We do not intend to replace or upstage TTH in anyway. If you have Warhammer related anything, you can post it there.
Unless I'm gone for good, then fuck 'em. If they won't let me back on so I can improve thier site once more. I have no other recourse but to create a 40k board here for my personal use.
This of course isn't MY decision. Every decision made on NewGen is communal. *Gives Yoritomo's one man band the one finger salute* But at this point I hardly see the need. TTH is awesome for 40k stuff. As you can see, I'm either way on the subject. I most likely won't be voting.

I don't want one. Final answer Meridith. This isn't a replacement for TTH. It's a space where we can be assured our Word to change tos are preserved.
Hahaha Just kidding. I typed that out for ol' times sake.

You can just post Warhammer stuff in Gaming and Art.
Warhammer (The Game) = Traditional Gaming = Gaming Warhammer (The Miniatures) = Modelling and Painting = Art
It ain't rocket science.
