Should the balls system be renamed?

To emphasize how much I don't like balls being given out arbitrarily-
I have removed the two balls I got for posting Willie Bum Bum in the last balls thread.

Which is part of the reason why I wanted the name changed to begin with.
It sounds childish and people will give it out for childish reasons, as noted above.
Even "Respect" is not correct, as people will "respect" people for silly things, such as Poly's quote above.

If it is about having the courage to say something, then name it "Courage" or something similar. People should get the idea if it is the word is actually something directly related without having multiple meanings, such as "Balls".

The points can be awarded using the same criteria as the balls system, they just indicate how Cool someone is being.

I don't know really. If it is to be renamed it should be something with same meaning as balls, but more clear.
I'm not sure but is 'guts' valid? As in 'That one's got some guts doing that!'.

I reiterate my main point:
Why call it something that could be misinterpreted (as it is) when you could call it the thing that you mean without any vagueness associated with it?
I realise that I am probably arguing a losing point here, and some of the comments here show that, but I believe it is valid enough to point out.

about calling it rep, all it shows at that point is who is more popular than someone else, or who is more liked, so it may not be a good idea.

To be frank, any system regardless of the 'name' is going to have those of high/lower status/level, thus giving people a way to discriminate against one another regardless of the 'worth' of said system.

If you really want to be 'free', as the premise of this forum, then you should turn off the 'balls' system and then no one can be discriminated/judged/choosed over etcetera.

I know you want a system to give some kind of data about a poster if you stumble across their post or profile.

I suggest, seriously, you should call it the 'Honor' system. Honor is about character. Your character on the internet is based upon what you post. You want to reward courage and punish cowardness and this seems to fit in line with that 'theme'. 'Balls' is funny for the time being but is offensive to some and won't go the distance when you critically look at it.

Instead of got some/get some... it should read courageous/cowardness just as the premise of the 'balls' system is written.
