That is a awesome picture, I agree. I had it as my desktop background for ages. btw; I will be hopefully putting up all of EverymanHYBRID and TribeTwelve tomorrow. I have a feeling that most of you haven't seen them, but I can tell you that they are pretty decent, and are still active so will do the job till Marble Hornets Part 2 comes around. |

I reviewed this in a Limerick on the Hive. Since then it's actually grown on me.
I suppose you could say I respect
The way a student's project
Holds my attention

Slender Man is an amazing horror. He works because of the uncertainty surrounding what he does to victims, his unpredictability, and his design is one you can easily mistake a dark corner for. He completely embodies the essence of paranoia. Great stuff.

I was very surprised when I first heard of this Slender man...
When I was very young, me and the family would go for autumn walks through a forest, and all around me were tall slim trees. I remember we had a bit of an inside meme going on about "the tall skinny people" that we would see between the trees (started because I swore that I saw a 7 foot tall skinny man walking behind the trees)
Now I of course realize the illusions of walking past hundreds of tall skinny leafless trees. But still, I got chills when I first heard of the internets rendition of Slender Man
Anyways, I still have no idea what it is. Why is it so popular? Is it fake or is this like a mystery or something?

Slender Man sprung up in a Something Awful thread about making ghost images. Since then he has evolved into a internet phenomenon, made popular by Marble Hornets. marblehornets.wikidot.com/slender-mansites.google.com/site/davflamerock/slendermanmythI think he is so scary simply because a tall, dark suited man is a common image of malice, and the fact that he hangs around tall trees in misty forests makes it worse. He is also the thing that we see in the corner of our eye and when we turn there is nothing. Fear of the unknown is probably why we fear Slender Man. |

I love the slender man meme. Yeah like probably most people after the first couple of episodes of Marble Hornets i was paranoid around my own house. I would trip up and go crazy every time i saw something remotely similar. But i like the idea and i'm glad its taken a lot of popularity.
