So, this Halal Meat business.
Insofar as my meagre mind understands it, some companies are serving Halal meat.
The issue is mainly that said companies aren't telling people about it, and not addressing the concerns of people who might be offended by eating Halal meat.
So, that's ultimately unethical on the company's part. However, the reason it's become such a big thing is because of whether eating Halal meat can really be considered offensive or wrong to some people.
Now, I personally have no issue eating Halal meat, but then again I am an agnostic and to me it's just meat where the animal was killed in a way that is right in the eyes of Islam. Doesn't really affect me.
However, I can see potentially that it might feel odd for some religious people to eat food specifically prepared for another religion. But how so? Is it because it feels like, in some way, you're worshipping Islam over your own when you eat said food?
Any Christians here (Jaka and Trygon come to mind), give opinions now plz. Kthnxbai.
(Sorry Sal, couldn't wait for the Poll! Feel free to ignore me, I just wanted to discuss this before it vanished behind the rise of 2012...)

As a liberal christian who's really terrible at following his religion and has cursed organised religion more times than he can remember... I have this to say.
Halal meat falls under the "Halal" category for Islamic adherents, and the "ordinary meat" category for everyone else. I would have no problem eating it. In related news, Challah looks delicious and I'd very much like to try it.

what i don't understand about the halal meat thing is it's a religious requirement for muslims (and kinda for jews) and dead meat to everyone else. there have been ecg done on dieing animals and found that halal killing has the similar pain response to electrocuting and beheading. so i understand if say they were secretive about g.e. meat or had abnormal p.e.t. levels or something but this about how an animal dies. i don't think people would care or not if they marked meats with "killed with electric shock and beheading" as well as "halal" or "kosher".
but the thing that got me was the that this was a conspiracy for fundamentalist muslims to turn america into a islamist state.

No no... the fundamentalists want to turn America to Islam by blowing it up.
On the contrary, if "killed by electrocution/beheading" was added to packets I'd imagine we'd have a lot more vegetarians. People rarly think before they eat unless the food looks disgusting.

Prey has the best flavor if the animal has been terrified but not chased far.
This goes for all prey.
Sorry, Carnivore.

Actually, the new testament biblical position on foods prepared for other religions was that so long as it was received with thanks to God it didn't matter where it came from. So, It's OK to eat it.
