I'm quite partial to the artstyle personally. It's a nice change from the usual and it is fun that it isn't being taken 100% seriously.

Well, back when I tried out Animes, Hellsing OVA/Ultimate was the only series I ever really bothered to watch out till the end. Mostly because of the fancy animation, the brilliant voices with the dubs and the fact that I was already a fan of the manga.

Although, I must state that I'm a fan of the original anime as well as the OVA. It gets a lot more hate than it should, IMO.
Also, whichever version you watch, watch in English. Purely for Jan Valentine.

tbh, most people aren't a fan because of how awful the plot was. It had more holes then Swiss cheese. Also, not enough Nazi Vampires.

I'm watching some Hellsing Ultimate, only watched 2 but it is rather awesome as something to pick up and watch. The plot isn't particularly interesting but the fights are always good, the character design is exceptional.
