The game itself is good fun to play online but nothing more than another casual console FPS. Nothing better than 4 players splitscreen and jumping into the online world of Rumble Pit. This rubbish about MLG is a little bit irritating but what can you do?
Plasma Pistol + Needle Rifle = victory.
if anyone ever wants to play, my gamertag is Psychodrake91.

WTF.
AND- RANT TIME
HALO REACH IS HALO 3, BUT WITH A FUCKTON OF FAIL AND WITH SHINY BITS.
WHAT'S THE POINT... WHY NOT MAKE HALO 4, FOR THE FANBOYS. WHAT A HEAP OF SHIT.
the gameplay is just fanboys going: LOL ASSAULT RIFLE, LOL NEEDLE RIFLE, LOL BEAM RIFLE. The only people worth your effort, are the guys who reach for thier handgun rather than the energy sword. I mean, It's just halo 3, but covered in gloss and fanboy semen.
AND THE WORST BIT IS THE FUCKING HYPE. I played the beta, I thought: looks 'kay. Played the game thought: OH GOD, ANTI-CLIMAX. You know why It was so shit.
FANBOYS. That's why. MEDIA HYPE. That's why. RETARDS, LINING UP FOR DAYS JUST TO LAY THIER SPERM COATED HANDS ON A COPY OF HALO REACH. That's why.
Grow the fuck up, get a decent game, not just halo 3 with more complications and more ways to win.

Yeah I'll agree with that.
But I'll extend it by saying that Halo 3 is just Halo 2 with more shine and Halo 2 is Halo with the ability to wield two weapons at once.
Over hyped series from start to finish.

I really like Reach. As soon as I get an xbox, I'm getting it.
I played it at a friends house and got from a Private to a Warrant Officer overnight. We also completed the campaign (on easy) in 4 hours... And I had never played Halo before...

And I thought Gears of Awesome was bad. Then again... I did watch one "Queers of War" serial. Don't do it. If someone tells you to do it, just don't.
I like the game. It's a game were you shoot aliens. I'm surprised everyone seems to expect more of it than that.

Although Egoraptors take on the Halo fanboy is inaccurate (But hilarious) some still rage on about the game as though it has the best of everything a game can have. I have to say, it hasn't been as bad for Halo: Reach, Halo 3 seemed to get a lot more hype.

When Halo 3 was released I didn't know about it being released. So I'm afraid I can't agree with Halo 3 getting a lot more hype.
Halo wars on the other hand... And that one sucked...
Cheers!

The Halo Wars demo itself was an insult to RTS games. Not good, but it wasn't Bungie so I can sorta see why. For all the flak they get from haters, they know how to make a good game and they please the community.

Apparently Bungie are making Halo Wars 2...
I like Halo. It's one of the best FPS games that I've played. But, then again, I haven't really been caught up in the hype all that much. Apart from listening to a 3 hour conversation about it at scout camp...

halo wars is only really worth is for those who enjoyed halo 3 multiplayer or those who enjoyed the books. there's a lot of back story in the campaign and i think it's a good thing for stories sake (unlike halo wars) but it leaves a lot of the public in the dark. in gaming terms think of halo reach to halo 3 was what halo combat evolved was to halo.

I'm not going to lie, i do love the halo series alot. Its overall story is pretty good in my mind, and the variety in campaign missions is nice, whether its escaping the ark on halo 3's last mission via warthog or Wandering New Mombasa's streets in the dead of night in ODST, I have a good time. On top of that the whole series has an amazing score and Reach is no exception. Reach's campaign was respectable. I especially appreciate the extra details and easter eggs. Just play through Tip of the Spear, stare off some of the cliffs and watch the epic battles below. Another noteworthy thing is the flexibility. User made content from Left 4 Dead to Toilet, to Sky Castle you can't argue that Halo has a large variety of possibilities. I do agree the weapons never change and vehicles don't really either. The new weapons/Vehicles in reach were needle rifle focus rifle, plasma launcher, plasma repeater, dmr, grenade launcher, concussion rifle, revanant, and falcon, which may seem like alot but they almost all replaced existing weapons. I say if you enjoy halo, buy reach, if you don't like it don't.

Wow, that's necro and a half if ever I saw one. As if I needed more evidence that no one's read the rules!
Seriously though, I'm going to make a clear case off of this...
Who thinks that it's acceptable for necro'd threads to be locked simply to stop the chain of people saying "lol necro" in new and wonderous ways and get the damn things back to the bottom of the page?
(hypocrisy noted)
