I suggest you read this. I'm writing it not only for those who came before, but those who've come and are yet to come.
What New General is trying to do is create an environment that sustains a fun-loving community, whatever it takes. Old General pretty much did this, but after a while, OG stopped doing this. It became a downtrodden and drab place for the better part of a year. People hated it, there was a bit of fun in it, but it was stagnated. A crushing sense of limitation changed people, made them pretty damn bitter. The OG regime has gone now, but the good times were gone long ago.
That will not happen here.
New General is a new start. The community will run the community, there will be no interference from the personal opinion of a Moderator. There are no limits to content aside from that which is denied by Proboards itself. You can have the website you want, provided everyone else is willing to share your vision. Be smart, there's no need to have anything just for the sake of having it.
Remember, this is a community. This isn't a collection of question threads and meaningless replies from random people. This a place where you can have fun and dare I say meet friends (penpal style... or otherwise if you wish). What's most important is that you should be having fun, but not at the expense of anyone.
There are a few things that you must do that'll keep this ship watertight and sailing smoothly. Firstly, read up on the Terms of Service of Proboards. Proboards is free, familiar and it's what has made this site possible. Don't underrate it's awesomeness, and don't defy it's wisdom.
Second, follow the rules. Punishment will only be given if someone is ticking off the community, and the rules are really guidelines to make sure this doesn't happen.
Thirdly, don't tick me off. Rebellion is something that shouldn't happen. The system is fair, if you want something, you can have it (if it doesn't conflict with the website... and it isn't meaningless). If you ain't getting things, then your asking for stuff that's not needed. There will never never be a reason that your requests are denied.
Lastly, feel free to be a dickhead. Feel free to attack the community and try to undermine it. Feel free to go against everything and pursue hate and sadness with a passion. Feel free to retaliate to our "recruitment drives". You will be banned without thought and your efforts deleted with the push of a single button. Plus... we'll all get a great laugh at how much of your life we wasted!
Well... I think you ought to read Proboards' Terms of Service.
