Alice, you should make a pokemon. I'm curious as to what it would look like and what it's powers would be...

But ghost moves don't work on her pokemon for me- my spinarak (now ariados ^-^) had nightshade and shadow sneak, neither of which worked. It was poo. But I managed to finally defeat her. I had done a Rocky-style training montage in the grassy area just out of town and bumped up each of my pokemon two levels. I marched back into the gym to the chariots of fire theme. And got trounced again. And again. And again. I eventually won down to one of those flukey incidences where everything seems to go okay and you manage to hang in there while poison finishes your enemy off I finished with only Salad still standing, and his hp was red XD So lucky! But I stand by my bug pokemon! We will be the greatest! EVENTUALLYYYYYY! *flies into the sunset* Psychodrake: Oh yeah, I like your trainercard. I think the hiker is the best male trainer sprite ^-^ Ace trainer is the best female Fair enough alice. Takes some real balls to stick by one type of pokemon- especially bug types. still, they will kick some serios posterious in the psychic gym Yeah! I just did that before work today I only used my butterfree and did a bunch of 1 or 2 hit kills It was funny at first though, because I had never attempted to just stick to one type before (I usually wimped out) but I wanted to see if it could be done without too much difficulty. So I started off catching my spinarak, then catrepie, and I traded over a lvl 6 combee from my Platinum game. I was skipping along quite merrily, adoring my cute pokemon, and, having easily beaten all the trainers on the road without trouble, I was thinking 'Yeah! My bug team is AWESOME! We can DO IT!!!' ;D Then I got to the first gym and some guy pops up and goes 'oh that's Falkner, our gym leader. He specialises in bird pokemon' ...

I've done mono-water and mono-psychic, but never tried mono-bug. But then again I've never been a fan of the bug pokemon in general anyway. Faulkner's not too bad, sure he uses flying types, but they're so low level that you can still beat him pretty easily. If I remember right I ended up beating him with just chikorita and zubat. I had pidgey as well but I don't think I actually used him...

Alta: That sounds like fun! I might do that @the Captain: Yeah, he wasn't so bad It was just my initial panic. It was Whitney with her incessent use of rollout that crippled me. It took out each of my pokemon in 2 or 3 hits I never use guides or anything, and I don't remember much about the old game (I had silver back then) so I never know what's coming up next. I'm just waiting for the point where I actually just get truly stuck with no hope of beating somebody. Because I know it's bound to happen sooner or later

All this trainer cardin' and pokediscussion has made me want to continue my dream team. I've got that perfectly bred and raised Porygon Z ready to go... time for a stun-lock togekiss!
Ah... porygon... he's soooo badass... he causes small children to convulse, babble and vomit with excitement!

I would need to buy a handheld me thinks then? Gameboy colour isn't the deal anymore, so I've heard. Including the actual game of course.
Cheers!

Well heres mine... One is a team i made with codes (only to get them at the start. They were lv 5 i think but then i evolved them) but only to try it out. It was in leaf green which was on my Ipod This is my current team on Heart Gold, well the team i took to the league and used to whack the Kanto gyms... Right now its in flux as I try to build my dex up.

alice, If you're having trouble with Whitney I recommend getting a Geodude up to 18 and teaching it Self-destruct. That worked for me just fine after knocking some of Miltank's health down. I gotta thing for Ground and Steel.

Well, yeah, but the point is I'm trying to beat the game using only bug pokemon. Actually, that failed, because I need a bug that can surf, and I don't know of one. Maybe surskit? Not sure, but even so, I can't catch one of those yet (I never cheat). Anyway, I have my Bayleaf, Salad, who is a grass type, because he was my starter. And now I have a Krabby called Dive (I picked Krabby because it can surf, and it LOOKS like a bug. Ish. It fits in at least!). I love how he walks sideways when he's following me! Anyway, nice ground/steal team Coff. Those types always intimidate me the most (however my butterfree could whup your ground types ) Custodian, did the Eevee team work? That's an interesting idea to make a starter team out of. Although I don't like the eevees very much.

Get a HM slave, bibarel is a good one. Just a random pokemon you don't use for battling that you put your HMs on. Just an idea you might want to consider anyway.
Glaceon is the best eeveelution.
By the way, I got bored and checked, there are no bugs that can learn surf. Sorry.

I know it's weird, but I feel guilty keeping a HM slave ^__^' It seems mean I think the best eeveelution is jolteon. Shockingly.

The Eevee team is fun, but difficult especially if your trying to keep everyone the same level. The hardest to keep strong is Eevee itself. The team is great since it can face any threat. My fav is Espeon but that may be because in Fire Red and Leaf Green Psychic types dominate, however t seems its Sp Atk is rather high. Umbreon also kicks ass. THe other problem with an eevee team is that aside from Umbreon and Vaporeon all the members have rather low health. But all in all it was fun I also liked having a second DS and Diamond so I could add some variety to my Heart Gold team

HM slaves are dirty and wrong and a waste of a good 6th pokemon team member.
But hey, what did you think would happen Game Freak when you made FUCKING HUNDREDS OF THEM. Seriously, Gold and Silver had like 3 Water ones. I was lucky I had a Dragonite and a Gyrados to take up some of them.

Yeah, there are way too many HMs. Surf, waterfall and strength aren't too bad, they're decent enough moves, but the others are just pointless.

Ah... my HM Slaves... known aptly as HM SLAVE, were Linoone and Bibarrel. How I loathe the dungeons that require you to have Strength, Rock Smash, Waterfall, Surf and in some cases Flash or Defog.
Victory road... how I loathe ye...
Well, I've decided my supreme dream team will have a Togekiss and a Rhyperior... any ideas for anything else?
